Build Your Squad
A Squad is a group of up to ten members who save and play alongside each other. Everyone keeps their own monthly contribution, their own personal Vault and their own Skill Test, and the Squad shares in the outcome when one of you wins the weekly reveal.
Why build a Squad?
Saving alongside people you know can be more motivating than saving alone. Shared accountability, a bit of friendly momentum and a reason to check in with each other all make consistency easier.
The Squad Bonus
One winner. Nine rewarded.
Under the current model, when a member of a full, active Squad wins that week's Crack the Vault stage, the other nine members share a £5,000 Squad Bonus. Split evenly, that's £555.56 each.
All ten places need to be filled and active to qualify. If a member drops out, the Squad loses access to the Squad Bonus until it is back to ten active members. Your own Vault and your own Skill Test aren't affected either way. Read the full explanation in how the Squad system works.
Captains and Vice Captains
Every Squad has a Captain, the member who starts it, and can have one Vice Captain appointed by the Captain. Together they keep the Squad full, active and organised so it stays in the running for the Squad Bonus.
Deputy
Vice Captain
One per Squad, appointed by the Captain. The Vice Captain shares the day-to-day work of running the Squad, so it keeps moving even when the Captain is busy.
Invite members
Share your Squad's invite link, code or QR code to fill the remaining places.
Nudge members
Remind someone who hasn't finished their monthly contribution or weekly Skill Test. They get an in-app notification and, unless they've opted out, an email. Nudge one member or the whole Squad, with a 24-hour cooldown so nobody gets pestered.
Remove members
Take someone out of the Squad to free up their place. This is locked on reveal day (see below).
Leader
Captain
The member who starts the Squad. The Captain can do everything the Vice Captain can, plus the decisions that shape the Squad.
Rename the Squad
Give your Squad a name that suits the group. You can change it whenever you like.
Appoint a Vice Captain
Promote one trusted member to be your deputy, and take the role back again whenever you want to.
Hand over the captaincy
Pass the Captain role to another member without disrupting the Squad, for example if you're stepping back.
Disband the Squad
Close the Squad down if it has run its course. You confirm by typing the Squad's name, so it can't happen by accident.
Everything a Vice Captain can do
Invite members, nudge members and remove members.

Squad chat, built in
Every Squad has its own chat panel right on the Squad page, so members can talk to each other without leaving The Twenty. Nudge each other about the weekly Skill Test, share tips, swap encouragement or just celebrate a good week.
- Messages appear live for everyone in the Squad, with each member's name, photo and the time.
- Only members of your Squad can post in your Squad's chat.
- The chat is designed to clear after each draw, so every week starts with a fresh space rather than an ever-growing history.
We ask everyone to keep conversations respectful and supportive.

Starting or joining a Squad
- Start your own. Name your Squad, become its Captain and invite people with a link, code or QR code.
- Join with a code. If someone has invited you, use their invite link or enter the code, or find a Squad by its name.
- Get matched. No group yet? Join a random Squad that still has space.
The Twenty is currently in a pre-launch waitlist phase, so Squads aren't open just yet. Join The Twenty waitlist to be notified the moment sign-ups open, or see how The Twenty works step by step.
Squad questions
Do I need nine friends to start a Squad?
No. You can start a Squad with whoever you already know and fill the remaining places as you go, or join an existing Squad that has space, including a random one if you'd like to be matched.
Does being in a Squad cost extra?
No. A Squad doesn't change your own £20 minimum monthly contribution or how your personal Vault works. It only adds the possibility of the shared Squad Bonus.
Are our savings pooled?
No. Every member keeps their own contribution, their own personal Vault and their own Skill Test attempts. The only thing a Squad shares is the outcome: the Squad Bonus.
Can I be in more than one Squad?
Each member belongs to one Squad at a time.
What happens to my Vault if my Squad breaks up?
Nothing. Your personal Vault is entirely your own and is independent of your Squad, whatever happens to the group.
Can the Captain just leave?
Not while other members are still in the Squad. The Captain hands the role to another member first, and can then leave. A Captain who is the only member can leave, which closes the Squad.
Why are Squad changes locked on Fridays?
Leaving, removing members and disbanding are locked for the whole of reveal day, so nobody can reshuffle a Squad right before the reveal and affect its Squad Bonus chances.
Ready to build your Squad?
Add your name and email and we'll let you know as soon as sign-ups open, so you can bring your people with you.
Squad features and the Squad Bonus described here reflect the current model and remain subject to The Twenty's final terms ahead of public launch. Prize outcomes depend on Skill Test and Crack the Vault performance, and nothing on this page is a guarantee of any prize.
