How The Squad System Works

The Twenty isn't designed to be a solitary experience.

Squads are how members bring saving, skill and the weekly reveal into a shared, social experience.

A Squad is a group of up to ten members who join The Twenty together.

You can build your own Squad, invite friends and family, or join one without needing to bring a full group yourself.

Squads aren't just a social add-on — group and community savings schemes have a long track record of helping people stick with a saving habit for longer than they typically manage alone. Shared accountability, a bit of friendly momentum, and a reason to check in with each other all make consistency easier. Community savings groups and credit unions have relied on that same basic principle for decades, well before digital products existed to formalise it.

Skill Test access itself is never Squad-exclusive — every member can take the weekly Skill Test whether they're in a Squad or not.

What a Squad adds is a shared outcome: when one member of a full, active Squad becomes that week's fastest qualifying participant, the rest of the Squad shares in it too.

Under the current model, when a Squad member wins that week's Crack the Vault stage, the other nine members of their Squad share a £5,000 Squad Bonus.

One member takes the headline prize. The other nine don't walk away empty-handed.

Split evenly, that's £555.56 each for the nine members who didn't win that week — a meaningful amount on top of whatever they've already built in their own personal Vault, for having simply stayed active in a full Squad.

A Squad needs all ten places filled and active to qualify for the Squad Bonus.

If a member drops out, the Squad loses access to the Squad Bonus until it's back to ten active members.

This doesn't affect any individual member's own Vault or their own ability to take the Skill Test — only the shared Squad Bonus.

You can start a Squad with whoever you already know and fill the remaining places as you go, or join an existing Squad that has space.

The Twenty's aim is to make the social side additive, not a barrier to entry.

• Each member keeps their own individual £20 minimum monthly contribution, personal Vault, and Skill Test attempts — a Squad doesn't pool your savings together.
• The only thing shared is the outcome: the £5,000 Squad Bonus when a member of a full, active Squad wins that week's reveal.

• Does being in a Squad cost extra? No — a Squad doesn't change your own £20 minimum monthly contribution or how your personal Vault works. It only adds the possibility of a shared Squad Bonus.
• Can I be in more than one Squad? The exact rules on Squad membership will be confirmed in The Twenty's final terms ahead of public launch.
• What happens to my own Vault if my Squad breaks up? Nothing — your personal Vault balance is entirely your own, independent of your Squad, whatever happens to the group.
• Do all ten Squad members need to pass the Skill Test in the same week to qualify for the Bonus? No — only one member needs to win that week's Crack the Vault stage. The requirement is that all ten Squad places stay filled and active, not that every member wins or even qualifies that particular week.

Saving alone is fine. Saving alongside people you know can be more motivating.
